What delivery methods are available?
Local Pharmacy Pick Up
(Allow 4 hours before arriving at the pharmacy)
Simply come into Doc’s Mega Save Chemist (open 8am until midnight, 7 days) at Marketown Shopping Centre, Newcastle West where your goods will be waiting for you at the register.
Free Home Delivery
Doc’s Mega Save Chemist offers a free home delivery service to those living or working within a 5km radius. If outside this area please contact Doc’s Mega Save Chemist for other delivery options.
If order is placed before 12 noon Doc’s Mega Save Chemist will deliver your goods between 12 noon and 4pm. If after this time, goods will be delivered to you the following week day.
(Allow up to 96 hours dependent on third party services)
Your order will be delivered straight to your door by Australia Post registered mail.
Do you ship internationally?
No, unfortunately Doc’s Mega Save Chemist is currently unable to fulfil any overseas transactions due to customs regulations and additional freight charges. All orders placed by overseas customers will be automatically refunded and an apology email will be sent.
How much does postal delivery cost?
There is a flat $11 postal delivery fee on all products; however, if your order is over 5kg, Doc’s Mega Save Chemist may decide to contact you to let you know that your parcel will be incurring additional postage charges. Your postage charge will then be calculated based on the total weight of your parcel and the difference will be payable using a credit card over the phone.
How long does delivery take?
Free Home Delivery
Doc’s Mega Save Chemist delivers weekdays between 12 noon and 4pm. If you make an order before 12 noon on a weekday, the goods will be delivered that afternoon. If you make an order after 12 noon on a week day, or on the weekend, the goods will be delivered to you the following weekday.
If you have selected postal delivery via Australia Post then, depending on the time of day you have placed your order and the delivery location, you will need to allow between 24 and 96 hours for your order to arrive.
Will my postal order be tracked?
Yes, your order will be sent with tracking and signature upon delivery. If you wish to enquire about the status of your order, please contact the store you have purchased from.
Do I have to be at home to collect my order?
Yes. You will have to be home to sign for both the Free Home Delivery service and also the Postal Delivery service.
If using the postal delivery service and your order arrives at a time when you are not home, a postage slip will be left in your letterbox and you will be required to pick your order up from your local Australia Post office. This system is used for the protection of your order, to ensure that it is delivered and not stolen from your property if left unattended.
If you have selected Home Delivery from our delivery driver, you will also have to be home to collect the medications. Under no circumstances will our staff leave medications of any sort at your home without you there.
Why are some items ‘PICKUP ONLY’?
Dangerous Goods are any products that are flammable or are considered high risk. We are unable to post any dangerous goods including aerosols, hair colours, fragrances and items containing batteries, due to Australia Post regulations.
We are unable to post bulky items including nappies, baby formula and toilet paper.
We are unable to post certain prescriptions due to both Australia Post and healthcare regulations.
There are some medicines which contain controlled drugs or are considered drugs of concern e.g. morphine. We are legally required to provide counselling and additional information when supplying these items. A Pharmacist intervention may be required.
Prescription items such as syrups are legally required to leave the dispensary ready to be consumed with an expiry period of 7 days. Due to variable shipping times it would be unsafe to post these items.
